Living Well Above the Law of Averages
Done as you believe
Living in this complex world, each of us follows our own unique path. It takes us from wherever we are to wherever we are to be next. That life path can be one that’s dictated by the events and circumstances around us, or can be a path of our choosing.
When Jesus said, “it is done unto you as you believe” he was telling you and me how to choose that path for ourselves. It is not done by wishing or hoping. It is accomplished by systematically and intentionally changing our beliefs, and allowing those new beliefs to create new experiences. This actually works. In real life. It is very simple. But it is not easy.
Most people don’t take ownership of their beliefs. That doesn’t stop the process, but simply substitutes an average set of beliefs that he or she has picked up from the world around them. It’s like getting into a car without touching the controls. It might go somewhere, or it might not. It could bump along a beautiful road or land in a ditch. When someone takes the wheel, it can become a vehicle for reaching a specific destination.
Some don’t know they can choose their own course, and that the choosing can make such a dramatic difference in their lives. Others are unwilling to put in the time and energy to change their beliefs. It can take some doing to understand what we really believe in order to change it. The benefits are huge.
We can make simple, superficial changes in our lives, like getting a good parking space at the mall or finding loose change on the ground. The same powerful process can also effect tremendous change in our health, relationships and work.
